According to Roberta, she doesn’t want much from life – to live quietly and be a good person, but also, very importantly, not to be bored. She doesn’t have ambition to be the best, she’s not seeking education, a better job or a more comfortable home. She exemplifies perfectly the spirit of the time – of economic and spiritual instability, uncertainty and constant change. The film tells the story in two strands. One is a chronological retelling of Roberta’s life events: one day she is a punk girl in one of Vilnius’ night clubs, the next,a responsible nanny in Reykjavik. The second strand consists of Roberta’s mesmerising and often co- mical monologues that bring us closer to her world and allow us to see things through her eyes.
