On the eve of the Tibetan New Year, Saanji, a youthful monk back from the monastery, caught sight of a Tibetan songstress on television. The haunting melody of the old song she performed stirred memories of Saanji's late grandfather within him.
The following day, as his father accompanied him to purchase new monk's boots, he noticed a concert poster hanging outside the monk's shop. To young Saanji's delight, the singer was the star of the upcoming show. Upon his return to the monastery with his new boots, Saanji found himself consumed by thoughts of how to gain the money for the coveted concert tickets. Unbeknownst to him, his wise master keenly observed this contemplation...
