David Lamelas’ work withstands no classification. He trained in painting and sculpting, but shortly after, he put the materials aside, embraced conceptual art and wagered for its dematerialization, placing the audience’s experience at the center. “There is a lapse of time that is space,” he states and reveals his synthetized obsessions in this, his first film. An analytical study if the exhibition hall describes light devices or the isolating of sound, depicting the minimal gestures of the workers who talk about their roles and responsibilities. Like an imagined zoom out, it turns into a psycho-geographic exploration of the city of London. The news of the lunar landing occupy the headlines and Lamelas goes out to the streets in order to document the amazement.
